In April 2025, I spent a week in Abu Dhabi working as a disguise Programmer/ Operator for my friends at Bild Studios. I was responsible for projection mapping the stunning teamLab Phenomena building for the Opening Ceremony and building the show’s disguise timeline.

The main show was made up of a circular LED floor, a giant projection mapped surface and over 6,300 Drones by the company Lumasky lit up the sky above the building. The technical video setup required for this project consisted of 5 GX2C disguise Media Servers outputting to over 40 projectors.

One of the most exciting aspect of this show were the audio reactive elements that the bild Studios team put together , whereas notes played by the renowned composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi on the central stage Steinway & Sons piano affected live the content projected onto the building’s facade. This was achieved via the use of Notch (Notch block that sat in the disguise timeline with audio input into the server), and was in fact record breaking (120m × 30m real-time, audio-reactive canvas with a resolution of 13,000 × 2,400 pixels)!

The whole month of November into December 2024 working as a disguise Programmer / Operator for Creative Technology Middle East. I was given the responsibility to projection map multiple mountain shaped set pieces as well as to Programme and Operate the final show, Eid Al Etihad 53.

Performed on December 2 in Al Ain, the show unfolded on the largest-ever stage constructed for the UAE's National Day celebrations. More than 10,000 participants from 81 nationalities, including expatriates, Emiratis, and members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra came together to create the iconic show. It also consisted of large drone show that formed shapes like palm trees and invention illustrations, as well as having 20 camels on stage.

The technical video setup required for this project consisted of six disguise servers outputting to 46 projectors for coverage of the walls, floor and mountain projection. OmniCal was used for aspects of the projection lineup.

The stunning visual content was made and delivered by multi-disciplinary moving image design studio; Luke Halls and the Production company was People.

I worked as a disguise Programmer/ Operator on behalf of Eduardo Dominicci, the original creator of the disguise project, for the event ‘H&M & LONDON’, working alongside KENNEDY and technical provider 80’Six.

The project, Produced by KENNEDY LONDON began in a previsualization suite before transitioning to the event site. I closely collaborated with media artist Maximo Recife, creatively sequencing his diverse content onto the disguise timeline to go with the soundscape, created by British DJ and radio presenter, Benji B. I also had the opportunity to VJ live performances for renowned electronic musicians and DJs Jamie xx and SHERELLE.

The event, held at the Copper Box Arena in East London, featured immersive installations and interactive elements by Maximo Recife and Weirdcore, as well as contributions from Albert Moya, the filmmaker behind H&M’s Autumn/Winter campaign. Highlights included a performance by dancers featured in the campaign, an electrifying set by campaign star Charli XCX, and an after-party with DJ sets by Jamie xx and SHERELLE.

The technical setup comprised two disguise VX4 servers outputting to multiple Vanish LED screens and a dynamic ROE Strip Grid, which included a movable central section. For VJing, I utilized a Stream Deck and a MIDI controller integrated with disguise.

Eduardo Dominicci, in addition to serving as Technical Video Consultant, designed the complex ROE Strip content pipeline and UV template for the project. This meticulous preparation ensured pixel-accurate, real-world content alignment on the expansive ROE Strip Grid at the Copper Box Arena.

disguise Operator as part of the bright! Studios team on Esports World Cup (previously gamers8), on one of the many breakout TV Studios in both on gamers8 in the summer of 2023 and Esport World Cup in the summer of 2024 for a total duration of over around 3 months combined. In charge of cueing both screen visuals and Augmented Reality elements via SP (Stage Precision software).

In 2024, each studio was equipped with 2 GX3 servers, 2 nDisplay nodes, and a Redspy camera tracking system. Additionally, 2 Stage Precision Shield AR rendering nodes for the handling of advanced augmented reality effects, while the LED screens consisted of 240 panels.

Esports World Cup (EWC, previously gamers8) is a premier global gaming competition that brings together the world's best esports players and teams to compete across a variety of popular video game titles. Much like traditional sports world cups, the EWC aims to crown champions in different genres and games, ranging from first-person shooters (FPS) to real-time strategy (RTS), multiplayer online battle arenas (MOBA), sports simulators, and battle royales.

A week in January 2024 onboard the newest and biggest cruise ship in the world (at the time of writing); Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, working as a disguise Programmer / Operator for Bild Studios. I also assisted with physical projection setup.

The Bild Studios team of which I was a part of were given the responsibility to produce and make technically possible all aspects of this reveal show, which included floor projection, rear projection, a holographic screen as well as dynamic lighting and audio effects.

The ‘show’ was a reveal of Inter Miami CF’s new 2024 season jersey of which Royal Caribbean are sponsors (and have their logo front and centre on said shirt). Global football superstars such as the infamous Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez were very much part of the show, taking off their sweaters to reveal the brand and never before seen shirt. The show was presented by Emmy award-winning host Mario Lopez and included inspirational talks by Royal Caribbean and Inter Miami executives.

The technical setup required for this project consisted of two disguise VX4’s outputting to a total of 12 projectors.

Two weeks in February 2023 working as a disguise Programmer / Operator for Bild Studios. The Bild Studios media server team of which I was a part of were given the responsibility to projection map the complex faces of this ancient Unesco World Heritage site. I was also in charge of show operation. The show was an hour long show that celebrated Saudi Arabia Founding day and consisted of a large cast that included many horses and camels.

The technical setup required for this project consisted of two Solo disguise directors, two 4x4’s as well as two GX2C’s outputting to a total of 70 projectors placed in large towers around the site.

The show (a dinner for distinguished guests) included a live performance by singer-songwriter John Legend and stunning immersive projection

The technical setup required for this project consisted of VX2 directors and four VX4’s outputting to a total of 80 projectors. There were also more than 20 projection towers required for this show.

A week spent in Veszprém, Hungary, in January 2023 mapping two churches (Veszprémi Vár) at the top of the city as well as operating the show. Many events were held in the city as part of the festivities associated to Veszprém and the Balaton Region having won the title of European Capital of Culture for 2023.

The system I managed consisted of two 4x4 disguise servers outputting to 10 projectors. The show had members of the local population as performers telling the story of city.

Eleven days in December 2022 based in Lusail Stadium working as a disguise Programmer / Operator for Creative Technology Middle East. My role was to Programme and finally Operate disguise software for the Closing Ceremony show as well as the Awards show. The Closing Ceremony consisted of a large number of singers and dancers choreographed to fit the music and projection. The Awards Ceremony was for awards such as Golden Boot, Glove and Ball, as well as the trophy lift moment.

The technical setup required for these shows consisted of two VX2 directors and four VX4 actors (including understudies) outputting to 36 projectors as well as stage LED screens and broadcast.

The incredible visual content was made and delivered by Multimedia Production Studio - Sila Svetta and the Production company was Balich Wonder Studio.

FIFA World Cup Final 2022:

One of, if not the most viewed tv event ever globally (estimated 3 billion people watching on TV) , the final took place in front of 88,966 spectators in Lusail Stadium. Once of the wildest games of football in the history of the sport, Messi’s Argentina beat France on penalties to become World Cup winners for the third time.

I spent six months working at EXPO 2020 between September 2021 – April 2022 as a disguise Programmer / Operator for Creative Technology Middle East. The role required me to work as part of a small team, as a senior disguise operator to assist with the programming and running content across two large LED screens on two of the biggest stages at EXPO 2020, Jubilee Park and Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre (DMA).

With over 650 shows delivered on the Jubilee Stage alone, this was by far one of the largest cultural festivals hosted in Dubai. Around 160 shows managed by various International Pavilions and their staff, meant there were more than 600+ hours of programming completed by the team. Acts included pop stars such as Christina Aguilera, KPOP stars such as ‘PSY’, and Grammy award-winning Snarky Puppy, cultural icons such as Bueno Vista Social Club, and a host of international DJs.

The technical setup on the Jubilee stage consisted of VX4 disguise servers, delivering content onto one large upstage LED screen, two images as well as a surtitle. Additional custom LED was required for broadcast. On the DMA stage, VX4 disguise servers outputted to one wide aspect upstage LED screen alongside broadcast.

Expo2020 Dubai:

The first EXPO to be held in the Middle East, with over 192 countries participating. Expo 2020 was made up of three districts, Opportunity, Sustainability, and Mobility. With an estimated budget of $18 billion, and coinciding with UAE’s 50th Anniversary, EXPO 2020 was one of the biggest ever seen.

Just over a week spent with Lucid Technologies and Black Light Ltd in their bespoke XR studio for the shooting of BBC’s ‘Virtually Home’ TV show. A technical setup consisting of x3 LED Walls, One LED floor, x4 GX2 and x2 VX4 disguise servers, x3 BMD Ursa Mini G2’s as well as x1 Mosys Star Tracker.

Using the disguise/ Unreal Engine workflow my role consisted of Programming and Operating the disguise aspect as well as some Unreal Programming; changing of levels and adding/ removing furniture/ decoration details as well as changing camera positions. I also assisted the TV team in getting to grips with this cutting edge workflow by working closely with the director and creative side to achieve their end goals.

Weeks spent towards the end of 2020, working both from home as well as later on site. A part of Bild Studio’s large team of technical specialist in the creation of a ground breaking live VFX design for MTV European Music Awards 2020.

Bild Studios designed a workflow that allowed a seemless combination of physical and virtual worlds using a a number of different softwares and kit including ‘disguise’, ‘Unreal Engine’, ‘Mo-Sys’ Camera tracking. This allowed a ‘virtual live experience’, in this case with the hosts Little Mix to be filmed as live, with a multiple number of cameras to cut between, all on site at one of London’s biggest green screen studios.

MTV EMA (European Music Awards) ; the annual presentation ceremony ceremony broadcast live on MTV Europe, Channel 5 and most of the international MTV channels as well as online. The show features performances by some the biggest names in music today.

Nearly two months (end of 2019, start of 2020) spent at King Fahd Stadium, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for Bild Studios. My role consisted of programming disguise software including timeline, mapping and show operation.

The grand finale of Riyadh Season; Leila, The Land of Imagination was a show created by Balich Worldwide Shows. The show consisted of 488 performers, more than 600 costumes and 250 props pieces.

There were approximately 89 projectors projecting onto a 4,400sqm projection surface which included four hills, a lake and a sandpit. In addition to this were moving scening elements such as tracked disks (using blacktrax integration), two ‘water screens’, rising walls and an inflatable rotating hand as well and a giant inflatable fort, meaning there was plenty of work for the disguise programmers to get on with.

As part of the Adobe Summit EMEA 2017, Taylor Bennett Partners designed a concept of an interactive digital waterfall. AV supplier Hawthorn reached out to BAJT to create the vision where guests are invited to put a stick into the ‘water’ and watch it react to their touch. 

BAJT created a system using a combination of the realtime visual engine Notch, mediaserver d3 and tracking technology Blacktrax; Created in Notch, the waterfall stems from 64,000 particles that feed into additional fluid dynamics systems, resulting in the effect of abstract flowing water. Virtual "Repeller" objects displace the water exactly in the location of people's physical sticks, which have Blackrax tracker points attached. Finally, d3 renders the Notch scene in realtime based on tracking data, and maps the visuals to 4 auto-blended projectors.
